Palestine Refugee Proposal to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The Concept

During the Holocaust era the United States admitted a total of 997 Jewish refugees. The United Kingdom organized the kindertransport of 10,000 children; and Latin American countries combined admitted 84,000 Jewish refugees. Twenty-eight of the thirty-two countries which attended the Evian Conference that took place July 6-15, 1938 flatly refused to receive any Jewish refugees.

It is our hypothesis at UUGCCR.com that (with notable exceptions) the collective global community largely failed to have and to show compassion for Jewish refugees at that time. This pattern continued after the Nazis were defeated and the countries of the world (with notable exceptions) continued to refuse to receive Jewish refugees. Many of the member states of The United Nations were among those who did not want to welcome Jewish refugees into their own countries. Therefore, the very decision to recognize the state of Israel may have been tainted, at least in part, by a motivation to not receive Jewish refugees into their own countries. This is especially with regards to the rest of the global community beyond the Arab world, which was already being impacted heavily by this United Nations decision. Once this decision was enacted, The United Nations remained ineffective with regards to any ongoing responsibility for what it had helped to create. By allowing Israel to commit ongoing injustice, and by allowing The United States to provide the support which largely enabled this to happen.

It is our understanding that the failure of the global community to act in a humanitarian (compassionate) manner by receiving Jewish refugees at that time has led inevitably to the current crisis in Palestine. A humanitarian effort at that time would have minimized The Holocaust, and a humanitarian effort at this time will minimize the death and destruction in Palestine (of both Palestinians and Israelis) in the short run, and will open a pathway to the resolution of the Palestine situation that may otherwise lead to a great war. This resolution being not a jewish state, but a democracy with equal rights for everyone.

As the global community in general and The United Nations specifically continued to define the Palestine situation as an Israeli-Palestinian conflict, they remain in denial as they continue to fail to understand the history. The global community and The United Nations are complicit in helping to create the current situation and therefore have an inherent responsibility to resolve it.

This is not an Isreali-Palestinian conflict; it is a global conflict requiring a global solution. Beyond all of the different situations and interpretations it all boils down to one incredibly simple thing: it is a rite of passage for the Soul of Humanity, as one being, to attain the realization of compassion, which will enable us to continue to remain viable as a species called humanity on a planet called Earth. After all is said and done, what else is God if not the Spirit of Compassion. Compassion (as a verb) necessitates -requires- the coordinated efforts of the global community to offer adequate refuge to the orphaned children of Palestine.

Egypt today is in a unique position (geographically) to be able to provide:

A staging ground for The 997 Palestinian Refugee Project, by admitting the orphaned children of Gaza and providing humanitarian aid.

A platform announcing this project to the global community, appealing to the conscience of the world and to each and every country, particularly to non-Islamic countries, to participate.

Create infrastructure to receive pledges from countries who will receive Palestinian refugees and facilitate a smooth and orderly transition.

There seems to be a consistent rhetoric today in the global community which says: “History did not begin on October 7”. This community largely goes on to act as if History began in 1948.

One need only go back sixteen more years and no further in history to 1932, in order to comprehend -not to commend or to condemn, nor to judge but to understand Israel.

Those who commend or condemn can never understand, because commendation or condemnation is a matter of judgment.

We must, as a species, evolve beyond judgment if we wish to have a planet that we can live and thrive upon. Beyond judgment resides compassion and understanding. Short of understanding a situation we resort to judgment, which inevitably leads to conflict.

There seems to be a profound inability in the global community to think back past 1948, even only as far back as 1932!!!

The reason why we are calling this The 997 Palestinian Refugee Project is in order to shine light on this era in history, to show and to re-educate the world as to how the United States in particular, and the global community in general, both contributed to this situation and therefore has the responsibility to resolve it. And furthermore, the United States has a fundamental responsibility to rescue the innocent victims of the weapons that it provides to Israel.

It is our hope and anticipation that the global community will respond affirmatively. We envision that this process will initially begin with some countries that will receive the orphaned children of Gaza unconditionally. This will constitute the first phase of the project. The next phase will consist of countries that have conditions. Each individual country of this next wave will likely have its own set of conditions. These countries will form into a coalition that will standardize those conditions into a unified front. This coalition will then have leverage to negotiate a ceasefire, hostage release, and ultimately provide a forum to negotiate and facilitate a One State Solution -not a jewish state but a democracy with equal rights for everyone.

The global community will receive willing Palestinian refugees, those who would leave by choice. This will result in a smaller Palestinian population, that can then be assimilated into the one state, between the river and the sea.

If Egypt is not a willing participant this process will obviously be much more difficult. This is a moment in history wherein Egypt can emerge as the Great Humanitarian of the World. Egypt will go down in history as having prevented a global cataclysm.
